John Akhnoukh, MD
Dr. Akhnoukh is a board-certified pain management specialist. A native New Yorker, Dr. Akhnoukh has expertise in interventional acute, chronic and cancer pain; neuromodulation; psychological counseling; alternative therapies; medical ethics; and hospice and palliative care. Dr. Akhnoukh uses multiple modalities to reduces pain, including minimally invasive decompression therapies, spine and joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, cryotherapy, PRP/stem-cell therapy, and spinal cord stimulation. Dr. Akhnoukh is affiliated with North American Partners of Anesthesia at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital. Dr. Akhnoukh studied medicine at an accelerated 7-year medical program associated with CUNY City College of New York and received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai West. He then completed a fellowship in Pain Management at the Weill Cornell Tri-Institutional Pain Fellowship Program.
